Winter In San Diego Outfits Are All About Layers

I love my fall and winter wardrobe. Cozy sweaters, jackets, and boots are all staples, but there are some favorite items that shouldn’t be put away at the end of a season. For me, comfy, soft t-shirts are part of this group that I hate having to fold away and stick in a drawer as things get colder. Winter in San Diego outfits are all about rocking layers. One of my favorite things is layering t-shirts with sweaters and flannels to stay cozy but be ready for the midday sunshine.

In San Diego, we have fairly mild winters with most days hitting near 70 degrees but the mornings are still cold enough to need jackets and sweaters. Easy to layer pieces that help me remain comfortable all day long is a staple for my winter in San Diego outfits. Starting with the basics of t-shirts, cardigans and jackets means that even if its 40 degrees when I leave the house and 75 in the middle of the day I don’t have to worry about it because I am ready for anything.

I know what people are going to say, it that doesn’t sound cold but that’s a matter of perspective and while we don’t get freezing temperatures or snow, it can drop into the low 40’s once the sun goes down, which I think anyone would say is chilly enough for a jacket and a sweater.

This lace-up graphic t-shirt is one of my favorites. I am a 90’s baby who loves the throwback to band t-shirts and the slightly more grungy years of my young life. I think its the perfect casual piece for under a flannel for a good everyday look running errands or hanging out with friends.

I wear a bralette, underneath it as the neckline is a little low, colorful lace ones from American Eagle are great for throwing under t-shirts to add a little pop of something, and I love using them to add a pop of color to a grey lose t-shirt or under a button-down with a little of the bralette showing. Having a nice solid black bralette like these from Bare Necessities is a must for low cut dresses and t-shirts as well!

I have a few pairs of jeans that are staples, and this dark wash Levi skinny jeans are a must-have. They are the perfect fit, available in short, regular and long lengths as well as plus sizes. They have a bunch of different washes and colors, that are easy to take from business casual to weekends doing chores. I will probably continue to add to my collection because finding news jeans is a pain and I love these.

You can take the girl out of the country but you can’t take the country out of the girl. And that includes a good flannel. They are a staple when it comes to layering t-shirts for winter or even being cozy around the house this time of year. I own an entire range of flannels, in different colors and patterns and they are absolutely a must-have for me. I use them year round to throw over bathing suits in the summer and to layer under sweaters or wear lounging around.

When its sunny most of the year, and you have light blue eyes a go-to pair of sunglasses are a must. My Ray Bans are the perfect thing to take from rocking with a messy bun on the way to the grocery store to after work drinks with friends without missing a beat. The small version of the aviators fit my face perfectly, just enough oversized but not overwhelming and being so high quality and such a classic style I anticipate them lasting me for years to come. I have an entire post about my favorite sunglasses for petite faces that are great for every day wear as well.

Winter in San Diego outfits are all about layers and being ready for anything. The season here is so different than anywhere else I have lived. However, I feel like layering is always good advice, no matter where you live. What are some of your favorite way to rock some layers in winter? Give me some advice, I could use it!

I love you all and hope you have a fantastic weekend!

XOXO

Charlie
