The holiday season has officially come and gone. Can you believe it? Where does time go? 2018 is just days away from being over and well, 2019, is going to be one hell of a year and I am not entirely sure I am ready to see 2018 end. I mean, I found a great new job, moved into a beautiful apartment, and am still in awe of getting to live just a block from the ocean.

And this time of year I want nothing more than to curl up in sweaters and wear strictly cozy clothes. Don’t get me wrong, I want to look pulled together but nothing makes me feel more ready for the festivities than a slouchy oversized sweater.
This time of year is also the best time to stock up on favorites as most stores have fabulous sales and a great selection. Which who doesn’t love saving someone while adding some great new pieces to their closet? I know this time of year is supposed to be about buying gifts for other people but while you’re out trying to find that perfect thing for your mom or sister you might as well look comfortable and cozy while doing it even if that means buying a little something to add to your own closet cause we all need something to wear to that Christmas party right?
Not gonna lie this time of year also happens to have my favorite color pallete. As I’ve gotten older all those dark winter colors: reds, olive greens, navy, creme, have become staples in my wardrobe. While my closet used to be filled with mostly light blues, greens and bright colors, its now an almost exclusively neutral zone.
When last minute dinner plans popped up and I was not dressed for the cooler weather that comes with the sun setting, I had little choice but to dash into the nearest Macy’s and try to find a solution to my problem. Oh, the horror of getting to go peruse the gorgeous sweaters that fill rack after rack at every department store this time of year. I’m the only person who loves going into department stores this time of year? Seeing them all decked out for the holidays, playing Christmas music on repeat, everything seeming to be dripping sparkle and decorations that look they came out of a Hallmark movie, cause lets be honest they probably did.
In the combing of through the many racks in the department that exist for us to indulge our shopping bug, I found this adorable cozy olive green knit sweater that is not only the best color but is so comfortable, slightly oversized and is definitely going to be on repeat through all of the cooler weather this year. I love pairing it with my favorite jeans or even a nice pair of dress pants and some heels for a more business casual yet still seasonal approach.
I’ve talked about them before but I have a serious obsession with the adorable boyfriend jeans. They are just one of the most worn things in my wardrobe and considering I bought them for like $25 at Charlotte Russe I am surprised they have lasted. I’ve had these in my closet for at least 3 years and these so no sign of wearing out or breaking down anywhere. They are so comfortable and only get better the more you wear them.
Will I ever stop wearing these boots? Probably not. Why? because are they not the most amazing things you’ve ever seen. You can pair them with everything from an adorable sweater like I have here or throw it on with dresses and skirts in every other season and they will look just as cute. Not only that but as someone who is always running around and on the move comfortable shoes are a must and these fit that bill. A love adding little feminine touches to outfits like the lace on these that make this outfit feel even cuter than it already is. You can see some of my other favorite pair of boots for the season in this blog post about the best pairs under $100.
Simple, easy and one of my fav outfits for this time of year. Depending on the dress code you can wear this at work, your next night out for dinner, or even a comfy weekend curled up with your family. So get ready for the coziness and comfort of this fabulous outfit that is perfect for even the most petite like me.
