A good petite blazer never goes to waste. Well, not now that I have fallen in love with styling them with jeans for a more put together but still casual look.
Lately, I have fallen into the trap of the freedom of a casual dress code in the workplace and I am finding myself pining for some more sophisticated looks to wear.
However, waking up earlier just to spend more time getting ready doesn’t really appeal to me seeing as I am not really, and have never been a morning person. So I am all about finding easy to wear, easy to throw together pieces that help me feel more put together but are still just as comfortable as my quarter zips and jeans.
Enter the women’s petite blazer. More modern and sleek than a cardigan but just as comfortable. Its not just any blazer, I have been notoriously picky about finding one made of a comfy material, that fits just right and it lightweight enough to be comfortable year-round. Eventually I found a couple that are just so perfect I couldn’t not share them with all of you and share some of my favorite ways to style them.

I picked up this women’s petite blazer up from New York & Company and I have been so in love with it. It has that classic structure of a blazer but it made of lightweight cotton that gives it a much more casual feel. Of course at first, I thought why not go with something fun and bright in terms of the color.
In the end though going with a classic black makes it easy to mix, match and pair with so many items you already have in your closet. The button detailing on the sleeves that give them a cute and adorable 3/4 sleeve appearance that I love for keeping my arms free while I am working and not slipping down to cover my hands which can be a hazard for petite women with sleeves that are too long or too big. Any other petite girls feel me?
Throwing this blazer on over a simple black body suit and some boyfriend jeans it the perfect casual look that will still have you feeling stylish and put together whether you are headed to meet with friends, out to dinner or even rocking it in a causal work place.
This look is easy to wear and will never fail to help pull together so many of classics you already own. If you don’t like the idea of wearing this with a bodysuit you can definitely switch it out for a blouse, or basic tee or tank to get the same vibe from your look. Here I paired it with a cute pair of high waist jeans from Express, and a simple blue cami for an extremely casual vibe.
Finding the perfect fit for a petite blazer can be tricky. However there are some great stores where you can find ones that are great for those of us that are shorter. Look for stores that have specific petite size sections, or that carry extended sizing down in the extra small or even extra extra small.
