How To Slay Overalls As A Petite Women
They say everyone has a style aesthetic. Can my aesthetic be whatever is easiest to put on in the morning that makes me look vaguely pulled together? Cause that is very much how I dress most days. I don’t want to spend more time getting ready in the morning than I have to. I am the farthest thing from a morning person you can imagine so when I get ready especially in the mornings I want to be able to put on something that I will be comfortable in all day, and look cute in. The ultimate mission right? And an overalls outfit has been a bucket list item for me to find.

I am wearing jeans and t-shirt most of the time and I really put most of my effort into dolling up for date nights or other special occasions. I never thought I would be able to find a way to rock my jeans style in an even more lazy girl matter until overalls came back into style. I was skeptical at first but as you can guess from the fact that I am talking about them here, they have stolen my heart. I bought these ones not too long ago after being on the hunt for the perfect pair and failing on more than one attempt, and I can’t stop wearing them. I mean I wore them all weekend and if it were acceptable I would probably wear them to work every day this week too. However, since it’s not, I guess I will have to settle for wearing them on the weekends and after work as a great way to switch things up from my normal jeans and sneaker combination.
While maybe not that far of a departure overalls are super comfortable and great for running around from errands to lunch to anything else you have going on. The first pair I had my eye on was the adorable pair from Madewell but they were over $100 and well my budget didn’t stretch that far despite it being just after payday. Super cute, and with the perfect fit these overalls were everything I wanted out of the pair I was searching for. However, after much searching, I finally found some great options for those looking to add an adorable pair of overalls to their collection without blowing the budget.
H&M has a perfect dupe for the Madewell overalls complete with the side zip that helps gives them such a flattering shape. They have them in a few different washes but I prefer the dark wash, as I do with most of my jeans. I like the distressing even though my dad will always tease me about buying jeans with holes in them. Dollhouse, a brand sold at Macy’s and at Ross has some adorable pairs of overalls as well that have the side zip making sure they emphasize your waist nicely without feeling too tight or constricting.
Pairing this adorable overall outfit with a cute basic tee keeps them looking laid back and casual. While you can dress them up a little more with a blouse, my favorite way to wear them is with a t-shirt or even a long sleeve tee if it’s going to be a little more chilly. I am more of a vneck person myself, whether its long sleeve or short sleeve a classic grey, black or white t-shirt that you probably already have in your collection pull together this adorable overalls outfit looking flawlessly.
These t-shirts from Kohls are actually some of my favorite. I am not sure how long I’ve had them but it must have for years now and I own quite a few of them in different colors because of how comfortable and versatile they are. I mean they are easy to pair with a jacket to dress up or to throw on with overalls or jeans for just being ready to go out the door in a few minutes. Throwing on some nicer jewelry and a nicer pair of shoes makes it easy to dress up for heading out to a date night after work.
These slip-on sneakers are perfect for being on the run and they compliment these cuffed overalls perfectly. I wasn’t sure if it was all going to work together but when I looked in the mirror I was like dang look how cute and casual your outfit is. One of those rare moments when you see exactly the fashion vision in your head come to life. It doesn’t happen very often but sometimes it all comes together to make a great look. These Ked’s were more difficult to find than I thought they would be, I mean I had been looking for the perfect pair for so long and ended up finding these all the way in Chicago on a trip to visit family. But I love the slightly quilted details on the top and how comfortable they are.
This overalls outfit may be extremely simple, comprising of only a few basic pieces put together to make this adorable petite look, its a favorite for sure. Throw this on for farmers markets, lunch or brunch date or hanging out at your favorite pub for some drinks. You’ll love how comfortable and easy overalls for petite women are to wear. If you are like me and are having doubts about your ability to rock this adorable petite fashion in style, well go try a pair on and be prepared to be amazed at just how perfect, cute and versatile overalls can be.
