Floral Spring Dress, Wedges And A Pop Of Color

If you’ve been around the blog awhile you know I am not a lover of pink. Which is why it was so shocking to me that I fell in love with this floral printed dress, but sometimes you find a petite floral dress that fits so well and is so pretty you just can’t resist adding it to your collection. And that’s what happened with this dress. It honestly fit so perfectly that I looked past the pink flowers all over it and said what the hell. I’ve been needing a new floral dress in my collection anyway and this was a home run.

Despite all the gloomy weather we’ve been having in San Diego I have been in such a mood for spring florals and bright colors. We all need a good floral dress in our closet for this time of year because not only are they great for just throwing on and being out the door, but if you have weddings to go, picnics, birthdays or any other kind of event, they are a great way to look festive and put together while still being comfortable.

I’m not sure if you guys know this or not but one of my favorite places in the whole world to shop is Nordstrom Rack. I always find so many great pieces to add to my collection including some designer items at a price that make the jaw drop. This dress was such a great find from them and I am not ashamed to admit it came from the kid’s section!

You all know I am a huge fan of shopping in the kid’s section to save some cash because I mean who doesn’t love saving money and if you can then why not. Be honest with me, If I hadn’t told you this dress came from the kid’s section would you have guessed it? Probably not. To be honest I didn’t even realize it was a kids size till I looked at the tag and it said it was a size 12.

The best part about shopping in the kids section is I can find dresses that are the perfect length. I don’t have to hem them or anything. Maybe you don’t think about finding even short dresses that aren’t to long as a hassle but let me tell you it can be such a hassle because they always hit in an awkwardly unflattering spot that’s not quite long enough or short enough.

I used to feel very weird for shopping in the kid’s section for clothes but hey it means I got to snag this adorable perfect for spring and summer dress for under $50.

These perfect cork wedges sandals have been in my collection for a very long time and they have some serious mileage on them being an almost constant go too when I want to dress up for date nights or any kind of spring or summer event. They go just as well with dresses as with my favorite pair of white jeans and are so comfortable that I can wear them all day without feeling like I am in pain or want to rip them off.

Unfortunately, they don’t sell wedges like this in the kid’s section but the good news is that these ones are under $50 and I’ve had mine for almost 6 years and they are still going strong. They have never broken or let me down and have only become more comfortable over the years.

Feeling all of the spring color I couldn’t resist adding a bit more with this gorgeous yellow handbag. I mean please tell me that this isn’t one of the most fun pieces you’ve seen. Its the perfect size for fitting all of my necessary yet unnecessary stuff into and is easy to carry around with me for a day even or night out when I want something springy or summery that’s still a bit more fun than a neutral color. Honestly, I have never been much of bright color in a handbag type. Hell, until a few years ago the only purses I had were the kind that could be thrown across my body and I could quarenttee they would hold about half a dozen books.

And of course, I sometimes do want to feel like I have put some effort into my self so I threw on some sparkle. This bracelet is a costume jewelry piece I had picked up to go with a dress for an event a few years ago and I never thought I would wear it again. But as with most things like this I was wrong and have thrown it on for a statement on more than one occasion. I have found a nicer cuff bracelet with some sparkle that you are sure to love.

I am trying to get more into jewelry and accessories in general but to be honest most of the time I forget because I am always running late to get out of the house. I am slowly adding to my collection though and hopefully you’ll bring seeing more and more great items like this one showing up on the blog.

I am dying for the warm weather and sunshine to come back so I can keep wearing all my favorite spring dresses again but I hope where ever you are spring is in full swing and you are having a great week!

XOXO

Charlie

When you started your post with “not a lover of pink” I thought it would be a super pink dress! But it wasn’t! I love the navy with the pops of pink flowers and it looks great on you. And no, I wouldn’t have guessed it was from the kids’ section at all 😛
