The end of 2017 is here, though I’m not sure how it blew by so fast, I am ready for 2018 and all of the adventures that it has to offer. With the end of the year though comes time to round up some of the best fashion trends for petite women this year. From patterns to color, cuts and more, there were definitely certain fashion trends I will be taking into 2018 because they were just too good to leave behind.

1. High Waist Pants

High waisted pants made a major comeback this year and I am so happy they did because these are a godsend when it comes to making your legs look longer, and you look taller. Whether it’s jeans, leggings, skirts or the waistline on a dress, by making your leg line look longer you can definitely add some extra inches to your look. I was so against high waisted pants for such a long time but when I finally cracked it was such a major game changer for my style. Definitely one of the best fashion trends for petite women. Embracing the pointed toe shoe was also a major fashion moment for me in 2017. Let me tell you, I under the dislike of Whether it was flats with a nice pointed toe in a fun color or booties or heels in a neutral color that you can pair with matching pants to really give you long legs and a taller appearance. While I’m still learning which more pointed styles I like, I’ve definitely have embraced the fact that while I am a fan of rounded toed shoes sometimes a nice pointed toe can help style-wise.

A denim jacket is a staple in the wardrobe that has definitely been making a comeback in 2017. At least for me, it was something that I saw go out of fashion years ago but has recently come back and I’ve been obsessed with it since adding it to my collection. There is something that just seems like a perfect addition to a young adults wardrobe and I love how versatile it is. From pairing it with dresses to wearing it with colored pants and skirts or leggings for a nice casual look.

4. Comfy Pants

Ponte pants are like leggings but thicker and often times more high-quality materials that make them a great option for casual or even work wear depending on the dress code where you work. I’ve been obsessed with mine since the start of the year, I own three pairs from Ann Taylor that I bought on sale at the start of the year, and they have become one of my favorite pairs of pants to wear for a variety of different occasions no matter the season.

5. Tucked Tops

The trend of tucking tops into pants has been great for helping petite women show off their legs. By wearing pants that hit at your natural waist and tucking shirts or blouses into your pants you can make sure that you are showing off your gorgeous legs, and look lean and tall. I’ve loved this trend for a long time but I think it’s one that really made a massive comeback this year and I’m so glad it did because it makes it easier to always look put together and your best.

Cropped jackets have been a huge part of the 2017 fashion trend. Well for petite women that’s awesome because of its means that your blazers and jackets will hit right on your hips making sure they aren’t too overwhelming or cutting your body into a weird spot.I love a good jacket and making sure they fit right is super important for rocking the style as flawlessly as possible. Make sure that your jackets fit right and you’ll be sure to slay any occasion you rock it at.

Vertical designs are a trend that should be rocked into 2018. Vertical stripes or other vertical designs can make it easier to rock styles that might previously be hard to do. The best fashion trends of 2017 have definitely forced me to grow outside of my comfort zone in terms of my wardrobe. I have loved learning new ways to rock my favorite styles. Petite women can and should wear whatever you want, and doing so in a flattering way can make sure everyone is jealous of how flawless you look.
