A Short Girl Does A Petite Denim Jacket
I am starting to get the itching for spring. Its been so rainy here in San Diego that it has me screaming for sunshine and gorgeous spring days. And that means I am pulling out all my favorite spring jackets including a great petite denim jacket you can pair with jeans, a dress, skirts or any outfit.
The hunt for a petite denim jacket wasn’t easy…. None of them seemed to fit right. I am sure my fellow petite ladies can understand. Sleeves are to long, shoulder seams don’t hit right, or the jacket its self is to long. But I have managed to find some great options and not only that but I am sharing one of my favorite classic ways to style a petite denim jacket that you will want to wear all spring long.

Before we get ahead of our selves lets take a look at some of the best petite denim jackets I’ve found for those of who are slightly smaller in stature.
One thing I will mention is that even with these petite friendly denim jackets I still roll and cuff the sleeves partially for the look and partially because the sleeves are just a tad long.
This denim jacket is from American Rag and honestly its the dream. A darker wash gives it a little more of a modern feel and I love how its slightly distressed through out even on the buttons to give a very playful casual feel. I couldn’t find this exact jacket online anymore so I have linked some great options below. Not gonna lie, my inner 90’s child was so excited when denim jackets came back in style, especially with a nice modern twist.
If you are looking for a twist on this classic here is an adorable why to style a white denim jacket with a stripped top and some precious petite friendly summer staples!
Black jeans are going to be on repeat this year for sure. If you don’t believe that wearing black will honestly make you feel and look slimmer you should grab these black jeans from Old Navy. Not only do they fit like a dream but they never lose their shape, have the perfect amount of stretch, and are super comfortable for all day plans. What more could you ask for in the perfect pair of jeans? Petite friendly, I will be honest that I still had to cuff and or get these hemmed as I am not only petite, I am extra petite so if you are in that same 4’10 ish range you may have to do the same.
This causal look wouldn’t be completed without a cute graphic tank. And of course I have been digging this dark green/olive color this year so it was the perfect little pop of color to combine with this neutrals heavy look. Most of my fave graphic tees and tanks have come from etsy… Oh and of course my own adorable collection I have launched! If you are look for great pieces to layer check my adorable tees because they are honestly the post adorable, softest thing with the cutest sayings.
And of course don’t forget classic sneakers. If you want to save some money on these sneakers that are usually about $70 go snag them from the kids section. Most people don’t know that a kids/youth size 4.5 is about the same as a woman’s 6 which means that far more people can actually fit into kids shoes than you might think. It’s a great way to save money, and give yourself more funds to by even more shoes and who doesn’t love that. While these kids are by far one of my favorite kids store finds I have an entire post dedicated to just can’t miss pieces from the kids department for us cute little ladies.
Hopefully you are ready to rock your own petite denim jacket and some black jeans, and even more importantly are ready for spring!
