5 Of The Best Hats For Petite Women Or Small Heads

Let me just say, I’m so glad I have this blog as a place to talk about the struggles and sometimes advantages of trying to dress as a petite woman because I am pretty sure that about nine millionth time one of my friends has to listen to me bitch about how hard is to shop for basically anything when you are super petite, they are probably over it. But alas, that is living life petite.

See what I did there?

Well, at least I crack myself up.

I’ve never been a hat person. Partially because I just never remember to put them on before I leave the house and partially because I always think they look ridiculous on me. I see these girls all over social meeting like so cute and casual in baseball caps and to be honest I think they look a little silly on me. However, recently, I have been so in love with wanting to wear cute hats. Which of course meant I had to go find some to rock. Finding great hats for small heads can be hard but it can be done.

So the search began to find hats that wouldn’t look ridiculous and fit those who have small heads because hey, I know I’m not the only one. Sometimes if you get lucky you can find hats that are adjustable and that’s like finding the holy grail of everything good in life. Adjustable is the saving grace when you are petite.

The “Instagram” Hat

You probably know what I am talking about. That nice floppy Instagram hat everyone has been rocking. Rock it with some overalls for the world cutest look. Some of them are straw, some are felt, some are made of other things but they all have the same basic shape and for some reason, they seem to look great on everybody. And, if you find one that is the right size, it will look great on you! I was skeptical at first too but I promise you, you’ll be slaying this fashion accessory like a pro in no time.

Who doesn’t love a good baseball cape for a casual day when you don’t want to do your hair. That good news is that most baseball caps are adjustable making it easier to find ones that fit but not necessarily ones that look cute. That is an entirely different ball game. Wow, sometimes I really impress myself with my own puns. Anyway, I’ve found some great baseball caps over the years thanks to my dad always telling me I should wear a hat outside when it’s sunny because I have skin essentially the color of paper.

Pricier Option: Lululemon Baller Hat

The can be basic straw or be many different colors. They can have Instagram worthy sayings on them, or be classic black and white. Whichever style you chose, this is a summer staple and a great addition to any insta-girls wardrobe, while also being good for your skin, and keeping you cool while you are lounging by the pool.

If you are more of a cold weather dweller, you are probably more into wearing beanie’s to keep your head warm, or maybe you just like them as a stylish statement. Beanies are probably one of my favorite types of hats. They are comfortable, cute, and honestly are a throwback to the early 2000’s. Everything from classic cable knits to bright colors, patterns and funny sayings or pompoms on top, you could add half a dozen of these to your collection and have to match every winter look you have.

Thanks for finding some hats that come in sizes! The adjustable ASOS one looks great. I’ve been looking around at hats for ages trying to find a cute one that’s not comically large. The best options I’ve found so far have been vintage, although I find that it takes a lot more time and effort to shop vintage.

Hi Charlie! Just found your blog. How exciting. I am 5’1″ and let me say finding shoes, sunglasses, dresses, and hats, have
been challenges all my life! Can you suggest some websites for aviator sunglasses? Every single pair I’ve tried, are just too large. They take up half my face, and I look like a bug! Your help would be appreciated.
